Still fighting the good fight against Green Anti-Virus. I've pinpointed the problem, but when I try to delete the folder, it's not allowing me to. I don't know what to do from there.

*semi-tangent* Which kind of explains why I haven't been online for the last few days. For one thing, I just haven't been wanting to deal with it because it's so damn frustrating. For another thing, I've had other things to do outside of my online life! Which isn't much, really, but my work schedule's kind of tight this week. I only got one day off, which was yesterday, so I got everything done that I needed to do in my spare time yesterday. (The next few days are either five- or six-hour days, which aren't so bad; it's not like they have me working eight-hour days all the time. I'm wondering who did the scheduling this week, Milijana or Diane...)

*semi-tangent* But I did get around to doing my Halloween costume shopping yesterday! Yes, I actually bought a costume this year as opposed to actually making a cool one. I'm turning into such a sellout as I get older, *ha*. I should just get a sewing machine for Christmas and learn to make my own damn clothes.

But anyway, I'm dressing up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. And I got one of the trampier adult costumes. The more "traditional" Dorothy costume cost more, and it just looked very cheaply made. And I don't know about you, but I don't want to spend $40 for a costume that looks like it might fall apart just by looking at it. The "trampy" Dorothy costume cost $25, and it actually fits pretty nicely for being a large. (The sales associate told me to go with a size larger than what I normally wear because they all run small.)

What annoyed the living piss out of me when I went shopping for my costume was....well, a parent was shopping for a Dorothy outfit for her little girl, and she was asking a sales associate if they had any of the sparkly shoe coverings to complete the outfit. Seriously? You're going to spend $20 for red sparkly coverings for your kids' shoes? There's a cheaper way around this. Get your kid a pair of cheap ballet flats (or check out Goodwill or the Salvation Army for a cheap pair of girls' shoes--she's only going to be wearing them for one night), a tube of red acrylic paint from JoAnn Fabrics for less than a dollar, a tube of Elmer's Glue-All and some red glitter. There! Instant ruby slippers. (Which is what I'm doing for mine. I didn't want to pay $40 for hooker-style heels with red glitter on them.) Do parents seriously not think about DIY-stuff like this? Or are they just lazy and would rather pay for convenience? UGH.

*semi-tangent* I did some other shopping as well. I got myself some new warmer clothes for fall (I can't believe October starts tomorrow. September just flew by so fast!), and a coffee press. And OH MY GOD, it's so much better this way! For one thing, it's stronger. For another thing, it gives me my singular serving of the strong coffee that I prefer as opposed to that weak, mild crap that Mom and Dad make in the regular coffee maker. I'm convinced that they don't know how to make decent coffee. They don't measure as much coffee grounds per cup that they want to make, so no wonder it's so weak.

*tangent* "Dancing With the Stars" this season rocks. My money's on either Mya, Aaron Carter or Donny Osmond. But I really, really, really hope Donny wins. :D

*tangent* Actually really looking forward to the new season of "The Girls Next Door" with the new girlfriends! It'll be interesting to see how the dynamic works with a new number one GF who hasn't been around as long as Holly was. (Speaking of, Holly Madison has finally gotten her own spinoff gig called "Planet Holly." Holly has no real personality of her own, so it'll probably tank. I'd rather see Bridget with her own reality spin-off; I don't consider her Travel Channel show an actual spinoff.)

I was Dorothy a few years back, and I made my shoes. I bought basic heels from K-Mart (a grey-ish middle color), glued on cardboard bows, and covered the whole things in red glitter puffy paint, then more loose glitter. It worked wonderfully.

Important note: DO NOT FORGET the little blue ankle-socks! They take the edge off the sexy shoes and add a little-girl attitude to the look.

...Safe Mode is your friend? Have you tried deleting it that way yet? My desktop is so overrun with viruses thanks to my brother-I can't even delete them that way.

I'm going as Carmen Sandiego (I'm not sure if you know who that is-no one seems to!), and the only thing I really need to buy is a trench coat and a hat, so that's nice. I don't understand why people spend so much for a one night kind of thing!

I know who Carmen Sandiego is. I remember playing that computer game on the Apple IIEs waaay back in elementary school. :)

Will try deleting in safe mode. Thanks for the recommendation.
