it's been a couple of days...

I got some news from a friend yesterday that kind of upset me. I don't want to get into details or point fingers, but I let her talk about her problem and cry on my shoulder and I tried to help her rationalize it. But in any case...here is where Holly gets a MAJOR chip on her shoulder and has to get on her soapbox.
To every single man out there who has ever complained about how "psycho" we women act and how you give us a bad name...maybe we wouldn't be so "psycho" if you didn't think you could be the king of everything and try to play around with women. We have a right to bitch and complain, because God knows you men do PLENTY of that.
And let me say something...if I had a boyfriend right now, I would NEVER cheat on him, I would never do him wrong, I would give him all the love I could give and never want to hurt him in any way, shape or form. It's been ages since I've been in a relationship, I'm actively looking right now but it's been hard because I'm still reeling from a bad experience and my trust in men (or others, really, for that matter) has faded a little more in the last couple of months...well, okay, ever since New York. I've been very lonely these last few months...fuck that, the last year, and I don't know what I've done to receive such shitty treatment from men.
I've still been questioning who my real friends are this last week. I lost a friend for her just being an outright bitch, had to console a friend through a bit of a crisis, and I'm still fighting a losing fight with a friend who is taking me for granted. So, I'd like to close this stupid LJ post with a quote from one of our founding fathers: "Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence. True friendship is a plant of slow growth and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appelation." (George Washington)
(BTW, Britney Spears's new single outright sucks ass.)
