now that my ranting is over...

A nice, normal entry for once. Whatever you want to define as "normal" anyway.
I'm sitting here at the computer, updating my LiveJournal. (Duh.) The computer is still slow as fuck, and we're still waiting for the software to download the accelerated Internet access. (That's all we can deduce it to, our shoddy Internet connection/provider. Everything else on the computer is working normally, but this connection isn't worth a shit.)
I've been in a real girly-girly mood lately. I curled my hair yesterday before work, and it was doing this flip-out thing like I had Farrah Fawcett hair, but it looked cute.
Okay, I just looked back at what I typed, and I can't believe I typed something like that. *weird look on face* Please tell me I'm not that shallow.
We have a new worker, Brooke's mother-in-law. Now, don't get me wrong, I know she's training and all, and yesterday was her second day, but...okay, she's never worked a cash register in her life, and she's got to be at least forty, I figure. It's going to take a while to train her because she doesn't really know her way around a computer or a register. She's been working a job preparing all the orders at Komo's Deli in Cedar Lake. I think the only reason Sheri hired her is because she's Brooke's mother-in-law and she needed a second job. This kind of reminds me a while back, when Rachel was asking me "What qualifications do you need to work at Blockbuster, because I've applied a few times and they won't hire me because they say I'm not qualified." It depends from store to store. Most Blockbuster locations (or video rental places, or places hiring cashiers, in general) will look to hire someone with retail sales experience and a good amount of time handling cash at a job. Most Blockbusters won't hire anyone younger than 17 or 18,(child labor laws--if you're under 18, you can't work past 10 pm...or at least that was the way it was when I was at Wilco; I don't know if child labor laws in Indiana have changed since), and most of the time they look to see if you've already graduated high school and have your diploma or a GED. So if she's not really that qualified, I don't know why she got hired. We'll see how she does in the next few weeks.
At least Tiffany's back, so now some hours will be freed up for Crystal and myself and we won't be working crazy hours.
