And because I got it from Target, it came with a sampler DVD for the Tinkerbell movie.

I'm watching it right now....and I have to be honest. I'm not thrilled. Little girls might like this, but I ain't having it. The animation is very good, for being CG-rendered, I'll give it that.
Let's just be glad that this is going to be the final direct-to-DVD Disney animated sequel.
*tangent* I had a dentist appointment last Thursday. I've got some tooth decay in one of my back molars that my dentist wants to get taken care of. I'm going to have to put it off for a couple of months because I've got other more important stuff that needs to be taken care of. (Bills suck.)
*tangent* I get to donate blood tomorrow.
*tangent* Well. I did something this Saturday night that was pretty eventful for me.
I finally went to see Rocky Horror at the Art with the new-ish cast.
I think they're doing an okay job. They need to rehearse more, and they need to work on their costumes. Fester as Divine before the show was AMAZING, though. He was the main reason I went. Lots of people surprised and happy that I FINALLY made it out to see the show. Made me happy in return.
Avoided Zero like the plague.
*tangent* I have a MAJOR plan that I can't go into too much detail about. Already got started on it. *Squeeee!*

Date: 2008-10-08 03:42 am (UTC)This movie is just going to cater to little girls. And you know, Disney is really running with the marketing of Tinkerbell, but it's too bad this'll be the last of the direct-to-DVD "sequels" because they could make a lot of money off a fairies-series. However, it compromises the integrity of the original Peter Pan film, and Roger Iger (the new head honcho at Disney) realized that they were only a quick way to make a buck and put an end to it. So no more direct-to-DVD sequels (they all sucked anyway, except for the Aladdin ones), and us Disney purists are happy.
Yah, I'm a huge geek about Disney stuff. I'm watching the special features DVD from the new Sleeping Beauty DVD as I type this.

Oh, I agree! The Lion King sequel SUCKED, and I'm not even going near the Peter Pan or Little Mermaid ones. Stop bastardizing my childhood, Disney! Thank goodness that would never happen to Alice in Wonderland (my personal favorite), considering the Disney movie is a combination of BOTH Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Good to know this is the last sequel. I was joking at the library (my other job lol) about what would be next...Snow White Part II?
I could have sworn there was going to be a whole fairy series revolving around Tinkerbell though...

I saw the first "Little Mermaid" sequel, but turned it off as soon as Prince Eric started singing. *hee* Did not see the Peter Pan one, did not see The Lion King one...as a general rule, I avoid the sequels (except for the "Aladdin" ones, and the "Beauty and the Beast" Christmas one).
I heard a LONG time ago that they were planning on a Snow White sequel, but I guess that'll never happen at this point. Walt Disney never wanted a sequel to Snow White, he hated the idea of sequels, and that's why he was so persistent in making Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty different. He knew his audience wouldn't be satisfied with a carbon copy. The animators kind out outdid themselves with Snow White, and Walt always resented it's success later on because...how do you top something as excellent as Snow White, really?
