As of yesterday, I'm neck-in-neck for first place with the MDA/Aisles of Smiles donations. While I was working self-check yesterday, Adam comes up and asks if I've sold at least two. Yesterday, I sold about eleven before I went to work at self-check. So I guess THAT means that put me over!

*SQUEEEEEEEEE!!*

HOWEVER.....and there is a "however".......they still have to tally up the earnings from yesterday. And today's the last day to collect donations.

I'm neck-in-neck with Shelly M. and Nancy S. They're both working today.

Oh, it's ON!! I lost first for the March of Dimes donations last time by SEVEN DOLLARS. I WANT TO WIN. I don't care about that $50 gift card to TGIFridays. I don't really want an in-store gift certificate for $20 or $25. I just want the glory of saying "I WON!!!! I worked hard, asked and annoyed a lot of people to donate, put forth an effort, and I WON!!!"

Because winning the Aisles of Smiles donation contest in our store means something to me. If I win this, that means I can do ANYTHING I WANT as long as I work hard and really put my mind to it.

Wow good job! Is your store doing the trip to Cancun, too? Last time I checked the stores chart, I saw we were at like 400 or something like that. Last year we raised like, 1,000 or so.

I've never been good at selling those things. Some people get so mad when you ask, it's discouraging. & I get yelled at enough in the service center; I don't want to add onto it, willingly, lol. I was thinking about (maybe) doing that Walk for Hunger; are you going to? I don't know if I can physically do it, though. I tore a tendon in my heel in June, & it's still painful to walk on at times.

Yeah, we're doing the Cancun trip, too. I think we're at $1200 or something like that now, but they have to tally up whatever we've earned in the last few days.

I don't think I'm gonna win, though. I think I'm coming in second place AGAIN, but by yet again a very small margin. The last few times we've done any donation drives, I usually do pretty well, and I'm amazed that I do so well because I never peddled for donations in school. But yeah, people DO get pissy if you ask. I don't care if someone tells me "no" or "no thanks," but if you give me attitude about it....not necessary.

I didn't know about the Walk for Hunger, unless they just haven't posted anything about it in the store yet.
