So Kevin and I went to Six Flags Great America on Sunday. We had a pretty good, fun-filled day, riding the rollercoasters, just the two of us. <3 <3

I pulled a thigh muscle on Superman: Ultimate Flight. I don't know how, though. I was up in that parallel-to-the-ground position, and when we were going into one of the first curves, I felt my thigh muscle get pulled. I don't know if this is an indication of how out-of-shape I truly am or what. But this might be my new favorite ride. :D :D

Alas, let us shed a tear for ShockWave, which Superman replaced. Both Kevin and I really loved ShockWave, and was disappointed to see go.

Everyone I had talked to said that the Dark Knight coaster was a disappointment....and sadly, I have to agree. Kevin liked it, but I thought they could've done better. The preshow leading into the actual loading area was pretty cool, though. They set up a video press conference with all of the Gotham media outlets interviewing Harvey Dent (yaaaaay, an excuse to see Sexhart!!), the the video cuts out and you know it's the Joker fucking around, and starts cutting it with all of these demonic images from scary movies (the shout-out to The Bad Seed was THE BEST! because that's a great older psycho movie!) and his scary-smile painting on the screen...but you don't actually see the Joker because Heath Ledger is dead, and he probably didn't even know they were concocting a thrill ride when they were making The Dark Knight.

But really, like I said...not thrilled with the actual ride. It's a wild mouse coaster, like Space Mountain at Walt Disney World/Disneyland. But Space Mountain was better than this, in that it has better special effects. What Six Flags needs to do is spruce up the original Batman: The Ride, maybe re-theme that TDK-style.

We hit up both cars on American Eagle. Both were operating the regular way this year; no backwards car this year. Bummer.

We also went on Roarin' Rapids. Kevin got his pants soaked. I barely got wet. WTF?!

We hit up all of the rollercoasters except for Iron Wolf and the Viper. I think the longest we had to wait in line was for Raging Bull, which surprised me because that one's been around a while. It's still a popular ride, though. And we didn't go to Hurricane Harbor because Kevin--operating early in the morning--wasn't thinking about it, and he left his swimming trunks at home. (D'oh!) But you know....with all of the rollercoasters at Six Flags now, you'd have to get a second-day pass or a season pass to be able to do Hurricane Harbor, too. Six Flags is now more of a weekend-thing. Besides, we already went to Deep River Waterpark last month.

But here's what gets me the most: the damn rental lockers. Six Flags now stations employees at the beginning of the ride lines to tell you that you aren't allowed to bring your bag/purse with you on the attraction (well, duh). But...they've gotten rid of the bins that you put your bag/purse in while you're on the ride, so now you're forced to pay a dollar per use for those cursed rental lockers. That's a racket they've got going there. It's probably to pull in more money for what they'd normally be bringing in with regular admission prices (they had to lower admission costs so everyone pays kids' prices--$35; not as many people wanting to pay $60 to go to Six Flags with the economy looking the way it does). The only ride that didn't force you to use the rental lockers was the Demon, who kept their original storage bins. (THANK YOU!!!)

I didn't get to take very many pictures. I took a few of the Looney Tunes parade with the digital camera (with the low battery), and a few of me and Kevin outside Superman: Ultimate Flight.
