First of all, Happy New Year to everybody who reads this LJ. My New Year's Eve was okay, for the most part. I didn't spend it at home, getting drunk, online and watching TV with my dog. I had to work, then I was out to party, for a change. It was snowing like crazy, but I went out. Actually, I made the drive out to Demotte to Walter's (Kevin's cousin) place. And I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere. Walter takes the cake! But we (Walter, Kevin and I) all went to the Paragon in Hobart for New Year's drinking. I tried getting one of my single female friends as a fellow partier for Walter, but I had no luck. The majority of my female friends are either married or have been in a long-term relationship. (And I'm going to post more about my status, or pondering my status anyway, later.) Crashed at Walter's place that night after we watched American Pie Presents Beta House.

Tried going home the next morning, and had difficulty getting out of the driveway. The roads looked like absolute CRAP the next morning in Lowell, and I'm seriously going to have to get a letter-writing campaign going on Austin Avenue about this shit. I'm tired of our roads never getting plowed and looking like crap and being even more difficult to drive on in bad weather like that, and I'm sure I'm not the only one tired of it. The road needs to be widened and the potholes seriously need to be taken care of. We pay too much in property taxes for this problem to get sorely neglected, and we pay even more for our cars to take the wear and tear for it. Having bitched about that....I spun out and got stuck in a snow drift about a mile away from my house on the way home. What killed me was after I spun out and got stuck, THEN the snow plows decided to come down Austin Avenue. And they did a piss-poor plowing job, too. I called off of work when I got home. It's the first time I've called off at Strack's, so I really wasn't too concerned about it.

Okay...Britney's been hospitalized after a custody standoff with good ol' K-Fed. And you know, I'm not a fan of Britney's, but people seriously need to pray for her at this point because what happened was what I would call a complete mental breakdown. Worse than what Mariah Carey was going through after Glitter came out. I heard about it as a teeny news blurb last night, and today it's just exploded on the Internet. I guess this is what I get from staying away from the Internet for maybe a week. I guess Kevin came to pick up the boys, and Britney locked herself in a bedroom with Jayden. I don't know what the hell her problem is, if she thinks her shit don't stink or if she's purposely being uncooperative in this custody battle....ESPECIALLY since Sorrell Trope (her third lawyer) has dropped her as a client...but she was hauled away in a stretcher in restraints.

She was IN RESTRAINTS, PEOPLE!!! This is not good. If she isn't whacked out on drugs at this point, she obviously needs to be institutionalized. And like I said...I'm not a fan of hers, but my heart truly does go out to her at this point, having had to go through the mental health/psych stuff before. Britney's problems are more than likely way worse than what I was going through back then (drugs did not factor into my problems, nor celebrity, nor babies, nor being batshit crazy), but if I could bounce back from it, she can, too. It's terrible that her kids had to witness all of that, and stuff like that can psychologically scar them for life. And she can kiss her custody rights to them goodbye at this point, too.

It's heartbreaking to see this happen. I remember just idly reading one of the tabloid magazines on my break at work about the Jamie Lynn mess, thinking, "You know, I think Britney's just had a shitty year, like I have. Maybe things will change this year and she'll get her priorities in order and have better luck." Looks like I thought wrong.

I feel bad for Britney, everytime I see videos of her fetting into a car or walking down the street there are cameras flashing EVERYWHERE. I hate having my picture taken and if I had to go through that I'd probably be fucking nuts too.
Not to mention everything else she goes through...

You know, I would feel worse for her, but the thing is she tips the paparazzi off to where she's going. They admit to this; it's a sick little game she plays with them. It's like she expects the attention, then acts like she hates them so much.
