well, they're gone
Jun. 28th, 2006 08:00 amFor not being an overtly religious service, the funeral went well. I liked what the clergyman had to say, how there's life after death for those who believe. And you know, for as much as I complain about how I don't like to be around that side of the family with all of the drama that comes with it, I do enjoy hanging out with my relatives.
But you know...things will never change. All I could think about was how sad my cousins were, but at least Aunt Ruth showed them that she loved them, & how much they knew she loved them back, & how I will never get that from Cosette. The whole time I saw all of their kids playing around, it made me think of way back to when we were all kids.
There was this one time when I was about four, & so was JR & Casie & Elanda, & I believe Stephanie was about five. We were all playing at some family thing at Cosette & Paw-Paw's house when they still lived in Crown Point. And me being a kid, I was playing with this canning ring & had put it on as a bracelet. JR came over to me & told me to give it to him. I told him I was playing with it first. He says it's his. We get into a fight over it, & Cosette tells me to give it to JR & let him play with it, even though I told her I was playing with it first. Mom & Dad sees what happened, & Dad gets into a tiff with his own mom & dad over it because JR started all of it.

Oh well. Cosette & James are gone, & I can sleep in my own bed again. Good riddance.
In other news, we had a staff meeting Monday morning, mainly between all us CSMs/ASMs & Patti. She explained to us new promo sales going on soon with the PVTs, & how we had to keep track of the credits. She couldn't believe it when we told her how Sheri was letting us redeem expired coupons & multiple free gumball rentals...but yeah, that's how she was operating. And THIS was interesting to learn...apparently, the store manager pockets an extra $100 a paycheck if the store manages to meet their quota for selling movie passes & rewards memberships. Brooke, Crystal, Jessica & I didn't know that till now. So the whole time when Sheri was still here, she was getting an extra $100 for our hard work. BULL SHIT. So here's what Patti suggested. Since Patti's helping us out, & she's on salary anyway no matter how many hours she works, she'll split up that $100 between the four of us on our paychecks since we're consistently at the store doing managerial duties. *raises an eyebrow*
And I think I'm catching Dad's cold. My throat hurts, & my nose is all runny. Yuck.
