"Telephone" premiered last night.

Once you kill a cow, you gotta make the whole burger

......Why do I not love this? All the Gaga stans are going nuts over it, but I'm not. I think I can appreciate it more on the repeat watchings, but I'm not thrilled with this.

Why?
CON: Too hyped up. She should've had the video out for this maybe a month ago when the single was still new on the radio. At this point, I kind of think the song's getting overplayed. Plus, Gaga kept pushing back the release date.

CON: Too much product placement. Beats by Dre and her own Heartbeats, I can understand. She's plugged them in all of her previous videos. But Virgin Mobile, Miracle Whip, Wonder Bread, and that dating website....really? As an artist, when do you know you've crossed the fine line into becoming...well, a sellout?

(And why do I have a feeling she'll drop Warhol's name when she's asked about the product placement in interviews?)

CON: The Kill Bill PussyWagon and the campy/kitschy Tarantino style of acting. Gaga, if you wanted that sort of feel, then why didn't you just freaking ASK Quentin Tarantino to direct this? But....I dunno. I love his movies. But I didn't love this. (And I just watched Kill Bill parts one and two on IFC a couple nights ago.)
CON: And you know....just when Beyoncé is starting to warm up on me, her appearance in this just irritated me, and I don't know why. She really isn't that great of an actress, and I thought she was laying this Sasha Fierce thing to rest. It's just....let this be Gaga's video. It was almost like they were fighting for the camera's attention. I would've liked this more if they just started duking it out.

PRO: But the dancing part towards the end with them in the American flag outfits was pretty awesome. Hell, all the dancing they did in the video was awesome. Gaga in the prison cell, her and Beyoncé in the diner, Gaga with the kitchen help....

CON: The rehashing of the "death by poison" plot from the "Paparazzi" video. I saw it in that video, I don't need to see it again in this one.

PRO: But if it's Gaga's way of continuing an art piece through a series of videos, I can't hate it too much. Have to give her credit for that.

PRO: The fashions in this video were crazy awesome.

PRO: Gaga looked hot. Beyoncé looked hot.

PRO: "Told you she didn't have a dick."

In a nut shell, it was good, but it wasn't great. Now we'll have to wait for the "Alejandro" video.

I can't believe I wasted 10 minutes of my life watching that. I think if it had just been the song it would have been better. People need to stop trying to make the next Thriller; it's not going to happen. All this proved was that neither one of them can act :/

I wasn't too impressed with it, myself. I thought it had a lot more potential. DX

It was outrageous (in a good and bad way heh), but that's what I've come to expect from Lady Gaga. The product placement was kind of weird (apart from her own headphones because like you said, that was in her other videos too), and I'm not a big Beyonce fan, so I didn't care much for that. The whole movie idea was a little stretched-out, like another commenter said, it was like I was watching someone do a takeoff on Thriller. If the "plot" was shortened, and we just had Lady Gaga being fierce, that would have made it a lot better.

I'm going to second your love for the dancing and the fashions. I loved the kitchen part hahaha.
